The program supports individuals in Kerala who cannot afford a physician or are unable to do medical procedures that are crucial to their health and survival. This fund seeks to enhance the lives of individuals who are ill, diseased, injured, or at risk, in areas of Kerala where contributions are derived.
This program was developed to aid families who are in extreme poverty or otherwise destitute situations. Such families cannot find the means to access the basic necessities to live a decent life.
The Church recognizes that there is a great necessity to attend to the spiritual needs of a growing generation of people who are born and raised outside of Kerala. The future of the Malankara Church in North America depends on having clergy from this generation who can take the lead to help develop the present spiritual organizations such as MGOCSM, Campus Ministry, and Sunday School, while also assisting in existing parishes and further outreach through youth ministry and the establishment of mission parishes.
This fund supports financially struggling congregations of our Church located in rural areas of Kerala to be given the opportunity to worship on a regular basis. Many of the rural area parishes in Kerala are unable to support a full-time priest and priests are only able to come on an occasional basis. This can also be the start of a new relationship.
The program supports the higher education of students in our diocese who are unable to attend colleges and universities due to financial struggle and students in Kerala, especially the children of priests, who need financial assistance for their higher education. The program aims to increase access to education among impoverished children and young adults in this area by providing students with yearly scholarships.
